What A Proprietary Blend Is
A proprietary blend lists a combined total weight for a group of ingredients, without breaking out how much of each individual ingredient is present. Sugar Reset's label shows a 200mg blend containing roughly 21 named botanicals, amino acids and other compounds.
Why Companies Use Them
Manufacturers sometimes cite formula protection as a reason for using blends rather than fully itemized amounts, keeping the exact ratio from competitors.
What You Can And Can't Know
You can know which ingredients are present, in what order (typically by descending weight), and the total combined amount. You cannot know exactly how much of, say, Gymnema Leaf Extract versus Maca Root Extract is actually in each serving.
What Sugar Reset Discloses Separately
Chromium is the one exception here, listed individually at 0.7mcg per serving, outside the proprietary blend.
